Logitech K380 Multi-Device Keyboard Review

If you use a phone, tablet, and computer — and who doesn't? — the Logitech K380 is the keyboard that ties them all together. One keyboard, three devices, instant switching. For $39.99, it's absurdly useful.

Design & Build

The K380 is compact (11.1 x 4.9 inches) and lightweight (14.3 oz), making it easy to toss in a bag. It comes in several colors — we tested the classic dark grey, but there's also rose, blue, and off-white. The build is all plastic but feels solid and well-made for the price.

The signature round keys look unusual but feel surprisingly natural after a day of typing. They're quieter than most keyboards, which makes the K380 great for coffee shops, libraries, or shared offices.

The Easy-Switch Magic

This is the killer feature. Three buttons at the top (1, 2, 3) each pair with a different device. Press 1 for your laptop, 2 for your iPad, 3 for your phone. Switching takes about 1 second — no re-pairing, no settings menu, just press and type.

In practice, this means you can type an email on your laptop, press "2" to reply to a text on your phone, then press "3" to take notes on your tablet. Once you experience it, you can't go back to single-device keyboards.

Compatibility

The K380 works with everything via Bluetooth. Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, iPadOS, iOS, Android — all supported. The keyboard auto-detects the operating system and adjusts the key mapping accordingly (so Command works on Mac, Windows key works on PC).

It's especially great as an iPad keyboard. The compact size matches the iPad perfectly, and iOS keyboard shortcuts (Cmd+C, Cmd+Tab, etc.) all work natively.

Typing Experience

The keys have a short travel distance with a soft, tactile bump. It's not a mechanical keyboard — don't expect that kind of feedback — but for casual typing, emails, and documents, it's comfortable and fast. Most people will hit their normal typing speed within a day.

The compact layout means no number pad, which keeps things portable. Function keys double as media controls and easy-switch buttons.

Battery Life

Two AAA batteries last up to 2 years. That's not a typo — two years. Logitech achieves this by using Bluetooth Low Energy and an auto-sleep feature. You'll forget this keyboard even needs batteries.

Should You Buy It?
