The Ring Indoor Cam Plus represents a significant upgrade from its predecessor, with 2K resolution providing noticeably sharper footage than standard 1080p cameras.

Video quality impressed us in testing. The 2K resolution captures clear details even when zooming in digitally. Color night vision works well in low-light conditions, though it does require some ambient light—in complete darkness, it switches to standard infrared.

Setup is remarkably simple. The Ring app guides you through the process in minutes, and if you're already in the Ring ecosystem, the camera integrates seamlessly with your existing devices. Alexa integration is excellent—view live feeds on Echo Show devices, get announcements when motion is detected, and control settings with voice commands.

The built-in privacy cover is a thoughtful addition. When you're home and want guaranteed privacy, slide the cover over the lens. It's a physical solution to privacy concerns that no amount of software can replicate.

The main caveat is the subscription requirement. While you can view live footage for free, recording clips and accessing video history requires Ring Protect ($4.99/month for one camera or $12.99/month for unlimited cameras). There's no local storage option.
